A 16 year old Roosevelt girl freed herself from the grip of a would-be abductor by punching him and running. The girl was walking home Monday from Roosevelt Junior-Senior High School around 2:50 pm and she noticed a dark-colored sedan slowly following her near Denton Place and Mirin Avenue. Police said there were four occupants in the vehicle. Moments later, a man in the backseat of the car asked her whether she wanted a ride. She declined and the man grabbed her by the jacket. She immediately punched him in the elbow and ran away. Police are searching for the men in the black sedan with tinted windows. The authorities are asking anyone with information about the allegation to call Nassau Police at 800-244-TIPS. Calls can be confidential.
