Mauricio Rodriguez, a 28 year old man who took photos up the skirt of a 14 year old girl at the Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove, was arrested after the girl's aunt snatched the cell-phone camera out of his hand. The girl and her aunt were shopping at Payless ShoeSource when Rodriguez, of Brentwood, approached the girl as she looked at a rack of shoes. He got on his knees and pretended to look at shores on a bottom shelf while he took a picture up her skirt with a cell phone camera. The aunt heard the shutter go off, grabbed the phone and yelled for help. Rodriguez was arrested and charged with unlawful surveillance, a class E felony carrying a maximum sentence of four years, and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.
