Edwin Gomez, a 29 year old Queens man, was charged with raping a 13 year old girl nearly seven years ago, thanks to a DNA sample he gave when he was arrested for stealing the identity of an Army reservist. He was arraigned on a second degree rape charge last month after his DNA sample matched semen recovered in the November 2000 rape of the girl in Jamaica.
