Lisa Frodella, a 40 year old Carle Place woman, surrendered to police on two counts each of third degree rape and third degree criminal sexual act for having two sexual encounters with a then 16 year old boy at hotels in Carle Place and Westbury on March 17 and April 24, 2006. Each crime is a felony punishable by 1 to 4 years in prison. The age of sexual consent is 17 with and adult at least 21 years of age. Frodella, of 274 Rushmore Avenue, met the boy, an acquaintance of her two teenage daughters, in January at her home. When she gave the boy a gift of a Mercedes-Benz, his mother saw it parked in the driveway and questioned her son. It helped reveal their illegal love affair and led to her arrest on May 31. She was ordered held on $120,000 bond, or $40,000 cash.
Frodella was sentenced to 3 years' probation on January 17, 2007. She pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct and will receive mental health treatment. She will also have to register as a sex offender.
