Ronald Nelson, a 58 year old paint sales representative from Montgomery, Alabama, was arrested November 19, 2006, at Morrow, Georgia, on federal charges related to traveling interstate with the intent to have sex with a minor child. Nelson began communicating via the internet with what he thought was the mother of a ten year old child. The "mother" was actually a law enforcement officer assigned to the FBI's Safe Child Task Force. Nelson will appear today before a US Magistrate Judge in Atlanta regarding these charges.
