2 GIRL TEENS ELUDE WOULD-BE ATTACKER

Newsday/Bill Mason

A man tried to grab two teenage girls in separate incidents in Brentwood yesterday and take them into a wooded area or vacant area.  Both incidents were within blocks of each other between 6:30 and 7 a.m.  The girls escaped.  In both cases, the suspect is described as thin, between 5'8" and 6' tall, about 30 years old and wearing dark clothing.  One victim said the attacker had a small knife.  The other victim's handbag was stolen.  Detectives asked that anyone with information call 631-854-8352 or 800-220-TIPS.
