Champion For Children Award Fundraiser 2004

It is my pleasure to announce that this year, Parents for Megan's Law will be honoring Thomas J. Spota, Suffolk County District Attorney as our Champion for Children. He is being honored for making children a top priority. Tom aggressively prosecutes child sexual offense cases while bringing every resource under this control to bear, including collaborations with all levels of law enforcement. He respects and encourages the role advocates have in the criminal justice process. Tom has the courage to make the spirit of laws aimed at protecting children become a reality. Most importantly, Tom has stood by sexually victimized children and their families who in a time of crisis needed a champion.

Champion Awards are also going to be given to Law Enforcement, Prosecution, a Legislator, Parole, Probation and the Media.

Our guest speakers are Steve Levy, Suffolk County Executive
and Thomas R. Suozzi, Nassau County Executive. The event will be at Villa Lombardi's - Holbrook from 5:30-9:30. There will be a Dinner and Open Bar. The Open Bar is being sponsored by Sayville Ford - Paul Llobell. We are seeking additional event sponsors, please call for details.
