Brian Sliter, a 42 year old register sex offender, is running for mayor in the small Texas townof Wilmer. He says he hopes voters can overlook his 2004 arrest in a police sting trying to arrangesex with a 15 year old girl on the Internet. Sliter said he accepts responsibility for his arrestand has received counseling that has helped turn my life around. He was placed on 10 years'probation and is eligible to run for office in Wilmer because he was never convicted.
