David Spears, 25, the stepfather of 9-year-old Rowan Ford who vanished while in his care lastweekend, was arrested along with his friend Chris Collings, 32, and charged with her murder andrape. Her body was found Friday in a cave in a remote part of McDonald County, about 10 miles southof the village of Stella, where she lived with her mother, Colleen Spears, 44. The mother wasworking a night shift at a Wal-Mart in a nearby town. Collings confessed that each man raped thegirl and one of them strangled her with a cord.
