BELLONE: NEW SEX OFFENDER HOUSING POLICY

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone joins Southampton Town Supervisor Anna Throne-Holstand Legislator Jay Schneiderman at Southampton Town Hall at 3 pm Thursday to announce plans for thelocation of trailers that house sex offender. The trailers, now sited in Riverhead on thegrounds of the county jail and in Westhampton, have been placed in the Town of Southampton since2007. The trailers were supposed to be moved to other towns on a rotating basis but they havenever been moved. The county is legally responsible to provide housing for homeless sexoffenders released from state prison.
