BISHOPS: NEW YORK ARCHDIOCESE FUMBLES SEX-ABUSE RX

According to a church audit released yesterday, it was found that the New York Archdiocese is one of 20 dioceses nationwide that has failed to comply fully with a year-old policy to prevent sexual abuse by Catholic priests.  The report, issued by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, cited Edward Cardinal Egan for slipshod efforts to create a safe environment program for children.
