IOWA:  EXPERT SAYS RELEASING MORE INFORMATION COULD PREVENT VIGILANTISM

EXPERTS OPPOSE SHOWING KIDS MUG SHOTS

Experts say that showing sex offender mug shots to children may not have much practical value.  They agree with Schools Chancellor Rudy Crew’s decision to forbid posting photographs of sex offenders in school hallways.  They say that research shows that to recognize a person through a photo lineup is very inconsistent and as an adult, you probably cannot memorize the faces on wanted pictures in the post office.  So, they feel it will be less effective for youngsters.

ONE IN FIVE US WOMEN FACES RAPE

TEEN PLEADS GUILTY IN RAPE, SLAY OF GIRL, 7
