FIREFIGHTER NABBED IN SEX ABUSE

Dennis Hargett, a 38-year-old veteran firefighter was charged with sexually abusing his 10-year-old daughter repeatedly over the past four years.  His daughter complained of the attacks to an aunt on Monday night and she called police.  Hargett, who lives on Hegeman Ave. in Brooklyn and is a member of Engine Co. 235 in Brooklyn, was taken into custody yesterday at the firehouse at Monroe Street and Nostrand Ave.  Hargett was suspended without pay after his arrest, pending further investigation according to a statement from the Fire Department.  The attacks occurred

12 YEAR OLD GIRL CHARGED WITH RAPE

A 12 year old girl has been charged with sexually abusing a 9 year old boy four times over a twomonth period. The incidents occurred in the boy’s bedroom during December and January and involvedsexual intercourse and genital fondling. The girl has been charged with first degree rape andsexual assault charges even though no force was involved because of the boy’s age.

WRITER WAS EYED IN CHILD SEX ABUSE

Michael Dorris, a 52 year old prize winning author, killed himself using the Heaven’s Gate cult suicide recipe.  Dorris was being investigated for child sex abuse.  He was the first unmarried American man to legally adopt three children.  He also fathered three more children after marrying.  His estranged wife, Erdrich, would not discuss the allegations.  The couple was locked in a bitter custody battle over their three children.

HOMELESS MOM PLEADS NOT GUILTY

Connie Marie Behymer, a 34 year old homeless woman, pleaded not guilty to charges that she brought her two daughters, ages 6 and 9 at the time, to Las Vegas and forced them into prostitution.  She is fighting the federal charges relating to her children.  She was arrested in Oklahoma City and transported here this week.  The children are staying with a relative.  FBI agents were told by the girl that they were forced to perform oral and straight sex and at least one of them was sodomized.  Medical reports
