Jason Wagner, 24, is accused of abducting a 3 year old girl and keeping her in an attic.  He pleaded guilty today to charges that included kidnapping and rape.  He faces a maximum sentence of 45 years to life in prison for the abduction in April 1999.  He could have been sentenced to life in prison without parole on charges including kidnapping, assault, rape and attempted murder if he was convicted at a trial.  According to the New York Times, four days after she vanished, a police detective found her

Xiana Fairchild, 7 years old, was reported missing December 9th, 1999 after she failed to come home from school.  A $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who abducted her has been offered by the governor’s office.  Her mother, Antoinette Robinson, called Mare Island Elementary School and that’s when she learned that Xiana had not shown up at school at all that day.  The mothers’ boyfriend, Robert Turnbough, gave police conflicting accounts of the morning Xiana disappeared.  First saying he had dropped her off

Anthony Carroll, 28, has been charged with abducting a 15 year old Mackenzie High School student last week.  The girl was waiting at a bus stop when Carroll allegedly ordered her into his car and drove away.  He fondled her and exposed himself according to police reports.  The girl was released and told school officials.  Prosecutors also charged him after his arrest with attempted abduction of a 19 year old woman on October 31.

Emily Smith, 15, was reported missing by her father several months ago.  Law enforcement acted on an anonymous tip leading them to Phoenix, Arizona where they apprehended 31 year old, Jon Jeffrey Shoemaker, who was due in court to answer charges of molesting Emily.  Investigators also discovered Emily’s mother, Catherine, at the same hotel room as Shoemaker.  Catherine Smith pleaded innocent to contributing to the delinquency of a minor on October 28th.  The molestation charges against Shoemaker detailed for a ten week period, Shoemaker and two of his friends engaged

JoAnn Buchanan, a family friend who occasionally baby sate for 6 year old Patricia Ann Miles, who disappeared after riding her bicycle to a grocery store, was charged with kidnapping her.  Patricia’s bicycle and her shoes were found August 16 in a cornfield.  Buchanan refused to speak to investigators.  A judge set bond at $1 million for her today.
