A 13 year old who was abducted at gunpoint from a school bus stop February 23, foiled the kidnapping-for-ransom and made a miraculous escape hours later.  The gunman, 22 year old Vicente Ignacio Beltran-Moreno, was still being sought.  The victim, Clay Moore, wasn’t hurt except for scratches and scrapes. The body of 6 year old Christopher Barrios, who vanished a week earlier in Georgia, was found by searchers inside a black trash bag.  Police arrested four people, convicted child molester George Edenfield, his parents and their friend Donald Dale, in connection with the boy’s disappearance.

Authorities in South Florida are re-examing statements in the unsolved 1981 slaying of 6 yearold Adam Walsh if serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer might have murdered him. The possible connectionwith the 26 year old case and Dahmer, who was convicted in the deaths of at least 17 men and boysfrom 1978 to 1991, some of which involved dismemberment and cannibalism, follows calls from tworetired FBI agents to re-examine the possibility that Dahmer abducted and killed Walsh inHollywood, Florida.

George Lynn Perez, a 30 year old Level 3 registered sex offender on parole, has been charged with kidnapping, rape and being a habitual offender.  Perez, a parking lot sweeper who lives at 14388 Pleasant Ridge Road, is to be arraigned March 5 and remains in jail on $500,000 bond.  He was arrested on January 25 after a 10 year old girl gave a detailed description of a man grabbing her, dragging her behind a storage building and molesting her, all on school property, a little after 7 a.m.  Perez

Israel Bonilla, a 22 year old New Cassel man who police said ran off with a 14 year old girl, was arrested on kidnapping charges on January 22 after the pair returned to Long Island from Virginia, five months after they left.  Bonilla, of 279 Grand Boulevard, was charged with second degree kidnapping and first degree endangering the welfare of a child.  He was being held on $50,000 cash and $100,000 bond.  Bonilla and the girl, who left with him willingly, departed Long Island on August 27, 2006, for Richmond,

William Davis, a 45 year old Manhattan man, kidnapped a 12 years old Brooklyn girl on Thursday and took her to a Westchester motel where he raped her.  Davis held the girl captive in an Ardsley motel room until Friday when he drove her back to her neighborhood.  He was arrested over the weekend and he was arraigned yesterday.  He entered no plea and was held without bail pending a hearing tomorrow.  Davis’ name and address match those a man on the state registry of sex offenders who got six
