Police say they have uncovered a ring that kidnapped girls and women and forced them to work as prostitutes in Michigan and possibly other states.  Two men, Henry Davis, a 32 year old from Chicago and a 17 year old from Detroit, were arrested after a teenage girl led officers to a home in Detroit where seven women and girls, one only 13, were being held against their will.  Davis was charged yesterday with nine felony counts.  He is charged with four counts involving a 17 year old girl who

Tito Guzman, 22, of Brooklyn and James Pope, 18, of Manhattan, were charged with promoting prostitution, endangering the welfare of a child and harassment.  They were arrested yesterday on charges of forcing a 12-year-old girl at knifepoint to prostitute herself in the vicinity of Queens Plaza in Long Island City.  Pope held a knife on the girl and told her to earn a minimum of $200 for him before she could stop working.  He was allegedly introduced to the girl through Guzman, known as the girl’s Daddy Pimp.

Christal Jean Jones, a 16 year old Vermont girl who was found dead in a Bronx brothel and linked with an interstate sex-slave ring, was smothered to death.  Cops originally thought she might have died of a drug overdose after her body was found inside a Zerega Avenue apartment on January 3rd.  She is believed to be one of at least 10 troubled girls lured to the Big Apple with promises of big bucks and big-city excitement, only to find themselves thrust into a world of squalor, prostitution and violence.
