Jaime Elvis Elizondo, a 35 year old convicted sex offender from San
Gabriel, was sentenced this week to 30 years to life in prison for
molesting a 5 year old girl at a Borders bookstore in Arcadia in 2008.
He was convicted June 8 of committing a lewd act on a child.  Elizondo,
a registered sex offender, was tracked with the help of a witness, who
confronted him in the bookstore, then found his picture on the Megan’s
Law website and turned the information over to police.

John West, 76, was sent to jail Thursday for his involvement in the sexual abuse of a 15 year old boy.  West was sentenced on one count of attempted forcible sodomy, which had been amended from a first degree felony to a class A misdemeanor.  A charge of forcible sex abuse had already been dismissed.  During the summer of 2005, West allegedly allowed co-defendant Brad R.
