A Tarrant man is under arrest after authorities say he tried to solicit a juvenile for sex, one of handful of men arrested by Homewood police in recent months in ongoing operations targeting sex crimes, particularly those against children.
Gabriel Jesus France-Mendez, 20, was booked into the Jefferson County Jail earlier this week – on Tuesday – on charges of traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act and child solicitation by computer – electronic solicitation for a child.

William Davis, a 45 year old Manhattan man, kidnapped a 12 years old Brooklyn girl on Thursday and took her to a Westchester motel where he raped her.  Davis held the girl captive in an Ardsley motel room until Friday when he drove her back to her neighborhood.  He was arrested over the weekend and he was arraigned yesterday.  He entered no plea and was held without bail pending a hearing tomorrow.  Davis’ name and address match those a man on the state registry of sex offenders who got six

Shady Elamaway, a 19 year old Queens Village man, is accused of sexually assaulting a 14 year old girl at a Floral Park motel and was charged yesterday with second degree rape.  

Nelson Lorenzana, 22, of 35 Elk St, and Juan Santos, 19, of 244 Main St., W. Hempstead, were arrested in connection with the rape of an 18 year old woman outside a business on Hempstead Avenue about 12:30 a.m.  They pleaded not guilty and are being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond at the Nassau County
