Roy Landon McCaig, 63, of 704 Edgewood Drive, Sheffield, was charged in an August 4 grand jury indictment with four counts of first-degree sexual abuse, two counts of first-degree sodomy and one count of first-degree rape.  His attorney argued Monday that his client should receive an alternative to prison for pleading guilty to sexually abusing a family member.  The victim testified that the abuse took place periodically at McCaig’s home when she was between the ages of 6 and 12.  She testified at McCaig’s sentencing hearing that she felt as

Erick Rodriguez, 43, was convicted in abstentia of attempted rape, sodomy, sexual abuse and incest.  He sexually assaulted his 10 year old daughter almost nightly for eight months.  He has been captured in Arizona and will return to New York to serve his sentence.  Rodriguez was free on only $10,000 bail when he skipped town in the middle of his trial.  He got the maximum sentence, a possible 61 years in prison.

Connie Marie Behymer, a 34 year old homeless woman, pleaded not guilty to charges that she brought her two daughters, ages 6 and 9 at the time, to Las Vegas and forced them into prostitution.  She is fighting the federal charges relating to her children.  She was arrested in Oklahoma City and transported here this week.  The children are staying with a relative.  FBI agents were told by the girl that they were forced to perform oral and straight sex and at least one of them was sodomized.  Medical reports
