A Sonora man identified as a firefighter was arrested on Tuesday at the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office investigations office on Cedar Road in Sonora on suspicion of underage sex crimes.
An online tip was made to the Sheriff’s Office via the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, a federally funded task force based in Sacramento, in December 2019 which initiated the investigation into the 53-year-old man arrested Tuesday, said Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Office Niccoli Sandelin.

Wilbert Riera, a 51 year old FDNY captain from Bay Shore, has been arrested on a felonywarrant out of Los Angeles for sexual crimes against children.  Los Angeles Police Departmentsaid Saturday that Riera was wanted for a September 12 Incident in Hollywood.

Michael A. Annunziata, a 31 year old West Babylon firefighter, is accused of having sex witha 16 year old girl and is facing a charge of third degree rape.  Annunziata, of 10th Avenue inWest Babylon, is a New York City firefighter and a captain with the West Babylon Volunteer FireDepartment.  He pleaded not guilty in a July 3 court appearance.  He was released on$25,000 cash bail and a temporary order of protection was issued barring him from contact with thevictim.  Third degree rape is a Class E felony
