Luis Rodriguez, a 56 year old Astoria man, was arrested for molesting a 5 year old girl who he was babysitting for in his home on Tuesday. Rodriguez, a salesman, allegedly rubbed his privates against the girl’s buttocks and tried to make the child fondle him. He was arraigned on charges of sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. His bail was set at $20,000 and he faces up to 7 years in prison.

Ali Martin, 21, was arrested for sexually assaulting a 12 year old girl in her Rosedale home. From July 1 to October 1 of last year, he repeatedly asked the girl, with whom he is acquainted, if she wanted to have sex with him. On one occasion, he allegedly pulled down her pajama pants and molested her then in another incident, he allegedly put on a condom and raped her. He has been charged with rape, sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

Police offered a $12,000 reward yesterday for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a sexual predator who has struck four times beginning last year. The suspect is described by police as between 18 and 25 year old, 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-11 and weighing 160 to 180. Carlos Rivera and Quaddafi Mcfarlane, both 19, have been arrested for beating and molesting a 16 year old female friend in December in the back seat of a car where the victim was sitting. Mcfarlane allegedly climbed into the back seat and ripped off her shirt, fondled her and forced her to have sex. When she fought back and bit Mcfarlane in the groin area, the teens allegedly pummeled her, inflicting severe bruising. Then they kicked the girl out of their car and drove away. Joseph Gibbs, 49, was arrested yesterday in the sexual abuse of a friend’s 8 year old daughter in Brownsville last month. On November 12, Gibbs was babysitting the girl while her mother, a friend, was away from her apartment when the alleged abuse occurred. Gibbs was charged with sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child after police were called to the hospital and the girl reported the incident.
