The sex crimes unit of the Bronx District Attorney’s office was rife with sexual harassment, a prosecutor charges in a new lawsuit seeking $2.5 million.

Assistant District Attorney Heba Abdelaal says she was subjected to constant inappropriate jokes and comments about her figure — and then was labeled humorless and disgruntled after she tried to distance herself from colleagues. Coworkers allegedly told Abdelaal, who is Muslim, that her religion made her too sensitive to the office’s culture.

A former Brighton resident is suing the Democrat and Chronicle and its parent company, Gannett, claiming he was sexually abused by a supervisor when he was a paperboy.
Rick Bates said he was 11 years old when the alleged incidents started in the early 1980s.

JEFFERSON, Md. (WDVM) – Three people from three different Maryland counties are accused of sexually abusing students at a school for students with emotional and behavioral disabilities.

Jermaine Thomas of Frederick, Ariel Eppard of Hagerstown and Wesley Dean of Montgomery Village face numerous charges, ranging from sexual abuse to child pornography. Officials allege the crimes took place both on and off The Jefferson School’s campus.

Gwendolyn Pharr, a 42 year old Brooklyn woman on trial for allegedly raping a teenage boy, is under investigation for the murder of a former boyfriend.  Pharr, of 315 Livonia Avenue – who is free pending the rape trial – testified before a grand jury recently regarding her ex-boyfriend’s death.  The grand jury is considering indicting her on a murder charge in connection with the death.  Meanwhile, the mother of two is accused of having sex with a 13 year old boy in a Brooklyn community center.  She testified yesterday
