BENNINGTON, Vt. (WECT) – Police in Bennington, Vermont arrested 67-year-old Peter Drutchal Sunday night on warrants out of Wilmington, NC. Wilmington Police took out the warrants against Drutchal after two victims came forward alleging Drutchal had molested them in the 1970s and 1980s when he lived in the Wilmington area.

The victims, who requested that we not publish their names at this time, told WECT they first met Drutchal when he worked for the Boy Scouts’ High Adventure program. The program utilizes outdoor recreation facilities to teach youth

James Kimp, a 31 year old head of a Long Island youth group, has been busted for impersonating a cop and failing to register as a convicted sex offender.  Kimp showed a phony badge to a Hempstead park employee May 7 and claimed to be a Missing Persons Squad detective looking for a 9 year old boy from the youth group.  The worker became suspicious and asked for a police photo identification but he showed her a North Carolina driver’s license instead.  She phone police, who investigated and arrested him.
