SUFFOLK OKs POLICE DROP-INS ON OFFENDERS
Suffolk sex offenders who are no longer on parole or probation can expect a visit from the police seeking to verify their address, under the provisions of a bill adopted yesterday by the county legislature. The bill aims to bolster monitoring of offenders. Some of them have failed to comply with a state law requiring their current home address to be placed on a public registry, or they moved and the registry wasn’t updated.
