A convicted child rapist was somehow able to waltz out of a Georgia prison — and red-faced authorities are scrambling to find him.
Tony Maycon Munoz-Mendez was “released in error” early Friday from Rogers State Prison in Reidsville, the Georgia Department of Corrections admitted in a statement Monday.
It’s unclear exactly how Munoz-Mendez, 31, got out, but the embarrassing incident is part of an ongoing “full internal investigation,” a corrections spokeswoman told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

A sick Brooklyn soccer coach with a record of child sex abuse stretching back to at least 2005 was sentenced Wednesday to four years in prison for molesting a 9-year-old boy on his team.

Pablo Pineda, 41, pleaded guilty earlier this month in Brooklyn Supreme Court to inappropriately touching the boy and showing him pornography after soccer practice in a bathroom at Friends Field in Midwood on East 4th Street near Avenue L on several occasions between July 1, 2017, and April 27, 2018.

Senator Joe Pennacchio condemned Governor Murphy’s sanctuary state policies that resulted in the release from county jail of an illegal immigrant who was arrested for sexual assault of a minor, despite a detainer request by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). A directive from the Attorney General has prohibited local law enforcement agencies from working with federal immigration authorities.

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — An illegal immigrant from Mexico convicted of committing a child sex crime is back in custody after being released by the Wake County Sheriff’s Office, according to a release from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Border Patrol agents continue capturing convicted criminals who have previously been kicked out of the country. On Monday authorities apprehended a Mexican man with a record in Nevada who had been removed last year.
“Agents conducted records checks, which revealed that the man, later identified as Mauricio Moreno-Garcia, a 26-year-old Mexican national, was convicted of Sexual Lewdness w/Child less than 14 years of age in 2016 out of the state of Nevada. Frederick County Sheriff Chuck Jenkins has blamed Maryland’s Montgomery county’s policies for enabling crimes from illegal immigrants and “jeopardizing public safety” as a result.
