A convicted child rapist was somehow able to waltz out of a Georgia prison — and red-faced authorities are scrambling to find him.
Tony Maycon Munoz-Mendez was “released in error” early Friday from Rogers State Prison in Reidsville, the Georgia Department of Corrections admitted in a statement Monday.
It’s unclear exactly how Munoz-Mendez, 31, got out, but the embarrassing incident is part of an ongoing “full internal investigation,” a corrections spokeswoman told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
In 2015, Munoz-Mendez received three life sentences for raping and molesting a girl
