CHILD-PORN COP COPS A PLEA  

PFMLIT CHILD PORNOGRAPHY, General, LAW ENFORCEMENT, SEX OFFENDERS AND OTHERS IN POSITIONS OF TRUST

Kevin Green, a 45 year old veteran city cop, was charged October 10, 2002, with possession of child pornography.  Green, who is assigned to the 45th Precinct in the Bronx and has been with the NYPD for 18 years, has been suspended from the force without pay.  Investigators executed a search warrant at Green's home on Lakewood Avenue, in Jamaica, Queens seizing 10 videotapes and 10 compact discs depicting children engaged in sexual activity with adults and other children.  Green was released on $100,000 bond after his arraignment.

Green pleaded guilty yesterday to the kiddie porn charges in exchange for a reduced sentence of up to 27 months behind bars.  I knowingly accepted a purchase of pornography, Green told Brooklyn federal Judge Edward Korman as he pleaded guilty to receiving one pornographic image through the mail as part of a plea deal that could put him away for between 21 and 27 months.  The charges carry a maximum of 15 years.  He remains on bail.
