CONVICTED SEX OFFENDER SOUGHT IN SOCAL MISSING STUDENT CASE

John Steven Burgess, a convicted sex offender, is identified as a person of interest in the disappearance of a female college student who met him on the Internet.  San Diego State University student Donna Jou, 19, was last seen June 23 at a party held at a Los Angeles home rented by Burgess.  Burgess, a registered sex offender, picked Jou up on a motorcycle earlier that day near her Rancho Santa Margarita home.  Burgess was convicted of three counts of battery in 2002 and of performing a lewd act against a child the following year.
