COPS CREATE GIRL TO BUST DAD IN SEX STING

Jeffrey S. Schnellenberger, 49, an Illinois father of two accused of trying to pay police posing as parents for sex with their fictitious 7 year old daughter, faces charges of soliciting a minor for immoral purposes and solicitation of Internet sex with a minor.  Schnellenberger allegedly approached an undercover Internet investigator March 20th in a chat room called dad&daughtersex using the screen name IL_Dad.  Schnellenberger allegedly negotiated a price of $100 in return for sex with the girl and her mother in several conversations by phone and e-mail.  He also requested nude photos of the girl and said he wanted to videotape himself performing sex acts on the woman and her daughter.  When the parents met him at a Detroit hotel Saturday to collect his money, police found he had filled a hot tub in his hotel room and placed lit candles around its edge.  He also had a video camera, which was set up facing the tub, and a digital camera and various sex toys.  During his conversations with undercover police,he allegedly said he'd previously had sex with girls ages 9 and 11.  Schnellenberger has been employed at the University of Illinois since October 1992 as an athletics attendant, and personnel officials were trying to determine his status, said Robin Kaler, director of communications.  A judge set bail at $100,000 at a hearing this afternoon in Wayne County Court.
