COPS: ROBBER STOLE JEWELRY, ATTEMPTED SEX ASSAULT IN EAST GARDEN CITY

Nassau detectives are looking for a robber who stole jewelry from a woman in East Garden CityWednesday, then tried to sexually assault her. The woman was walking about 5:30 am in aparking lot by Stewart and Selfridge avenues when the robber attacked her from behind. He ranoff, and the victim was treated for minor injuries at a hospital and released. The suspectappeared to be 5 feet, 7 inches to 6 feet tall, had a medium build and wore black pants and blackshoes.
