DA TO THROW BOOK AT NEW JERSEY ‘KIDNAP’ DAD

New York state's Amber Alert system was activated for the first time on March 7, 2003, at the request of New Jersey police who were looking for a kidnapped girl.  Angel M. Rivera, 26, is accused of abducting his 2 year old daughter and taking her on a 26 hour odyssey and will likely face numerous charges.  He abducted his daughter at gunpoint at a New Jersey hotel in a bitter custody dispute.  The search ended at 11:20 a.m. when cops plucked little Angela Rivera and her father from a home in Camden.  The toddler was unharmed.  He allegedly carjacked a vehicle in the chase.
