FLANDERS MAN DRAWS 4-YEAR SENTENCE IN MOLESTATION CASE

Albert J. Carini, a 53 year old Flanders man, pleaded not guilty to a five count grand juryindictment charging that he sexually abused two children.  He was ordered held on $500,000bond or $150,000 cash bail.  He is charged with first degree and second degree course ofsexual conduct against a child, second degree sexual abuse and two counts of endangering thewelfare of a child.  The charges of course of sexual conduct allege that Carnini engaged intwo or more acts of sexual conduct with a child younger than 11 years old between mid-2011 andMay.  A second victim, who the indictment charges was subjected to sexual contact, was youngerthan 14 years old when that contact occurred in or about November 2009.

Carini, now 54, was sentenced Friday to 4 years in prison for molesting the twosisters who were close friends of his daughter.  He pleaded guilty earlier this year to seconddegree engaging in a course of sexual conduct with a child and second degree sexual abuse.  Headmitted molesting the two sisters while they visited his house on sleepovers and were in hisdaughter’s bedroom.
Assistant District Attorney Dana Brown said Carini’s daughter witnessed some of theabuse and that a Family Court proceeding would keep him away from her too.
