GIRL PLACED IN CARE OF CONVICTED RAPIST (Accused Hid Real Identity To Become Foster Parent)

James Michael Patch, a 41-year-old man who served prison time for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman was arrested Thursday on multiple counts of child molestation of a 14-year-old Butte County girl.  He was convicted in 1981 of raping a Minnesota woman at knifepoint and was able to hide his real identity and get permission to become a foster parent to the teenager.  According to dailynews.yahoo.com, Patch changed his name to Mickey Glisson by obtaining an Arizona driver's license after he was paroled in 1998.  The state ran a background check on Patch but only for California, not nationwide.  Only a statewide check was required.  He is facing two counts of lewd acts with a child, two counts of supplying drugs to a child and perjury on his background investigation.  He was arrested in Arkansas but should be sent back to California next week to face a judge.
