GROUP HOME OWNER FACES CHILD PORN CHARGES

Myer Nevitt, a 49-year-old owner of four group homes for troubled teens, was arrested after agents learned from an informant that he allegedly collected illegal pictures of young boys on his home computer.  According to APBnews.com, agents executing a search warrant today allegedly found 300 diskettes in the suspect's office containing hundreds more photos of juveniles, some under the age of 12, engaged in sexual activity.  The possession and distribution of child pornography charges carry a maximum of 15 years imprisonment upon conviction.  Nevitt appeared in federal court Thursday and was released on $50,000 bond.  This is the second child pornography bust that the US Customs Service and FBI here made in as many days.  On Wednesday, a joint child protection task force raided the Lake Worth home of Wayne Camolli, who they accuse of distributing child porn through a private Web site he administered from his personal computer.
