GUN TIP LEADS TO DISCOVERY OF CHILD PORN (Officials issued alert when convict relocated)

Leland Rosemont, a 58 year old convicted child molester, was indicted by a grand jury in US District Court in Detroit on Thursday, on two felony firearms charges following a raid April 30 at his Beverly Hills house.  Hundreds of explicitly photos, some depicting him having sex with underage girls were found by investigators.  Rosemont was convicted twice in the 1970s of molesting young girls and is now the focus of an investigation by Beverly Hills police and the Oakland County Sheriff's Department.  The investigation is focused on identifying girls in the photos, some of the girls could be as young as 8.  As a convicted felon, he is prohibited from owning weapons.  Investigators found eight guns and seized hundreds of pictures of child pornography from the residence.  Child molestation experts say the recidivism rate for child molesters is high.  Laura Ahearn, executive director of Parents for Megan's Law, based in New York, said most child molesters will commit 50 crimes against girls and 150 against boys in their lifetimes.  Under Megan's Law, residents are notified when a convicted child molester moves into their area.  Several neighbors declining to give their names said they have known for years of Rosemont's criminal past and as parents of young children, they are way of him living nearby.
