HEARING SET FOR PROPOSED SEX OFFENDER LAW

A public hearing will be held next month to discuss a proposed law that would limit thenumber of places where registered sex offenders can live in Riverhead Town.  If adopted, thelaw will prohibit registered sex offenders from living within a quarter mile of a school, day carecenter, library, day camp, park, beach or playground in an effort to limit their contact withchildren.  The public hearing is scheduled for  7:05pm on Wednesday, February 17 at TownHall.
