INWOOD MAN SENTENCED FOR TRYING TO HIRE HIT MAN TO KILL TEENAGE EMPLOYEE HE ASSAULTED

Daniel Miller, a 48 year old Inwood man, pleaded guilty to charges that included hiring ahit man to kill a 17 year old teen he sexually abused in 2012 and was sentenced to a 9-year prisonsentence Tuesday.  Miller drugged and sexually abused the boy that worked in his religiousbook store.  While in jail, he admitted to trying to hire someone to kill the boy to keep himfrom testifying against him.  He pleaded guilty to a total of 41 charges, includingkidnapping, sexual abuse and conspiracy to commit murder.  Miller also pleaded guilty to grandlarceny charges for stealing more than $200,000 by passing bad checks.
The victim, now 21, wrote that Miller took advantage of a kid who just wanted to work, andthat he hopes the defendant rots in hell.  He took everything from me, the victim'sstatement said.  I have an anger I can't get rid of.  Miller was prosecuted for crimesthat would put him behind bars for years and require him to register as a sex offender.
