A northeast Iowa sex offender has been accused of another sex crime, court records show.
Allen Ray Love Jr., 47, of West Union is facing a charge of enticing a minor under 13, according to criminal complaint filed Tuesday.
“On (Tuesday) a search warrant was conducted at (a home in) West Union where several electronic devices were seized for forensic examination,” reads a news release from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.
Love, in the last two months, asked a girl under the age of 13 to show him her genitals, investigators say. When she refused, he told her to take photos of her body and send them to him. He sent explicit photos to the girl, too, court records show.
A no-contact order has been brought between Love and the victim. He’s being held at the Fayette County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
An attorney, Cory Gonzales, has been appointed to represent Love, who is next due in court Nov. 25.
Love “is also on parole and parole violations are pending,” the release states.
Love also has been charged with failure to comply with sex-offender registry, first offense. Court records state he did not notify the registry that he’d bought a cellphone earlier in the year.
In 2006, Love pleaded guilty to third-degree sexual abuse after being charged with second-degree sexual abuse. Court filings on the case were not available online Thursday night. The Iowa Sex-Offender Registry states Love was 33 at the time of the crime and the victim was a girl under the age of 17. He was sentenced to 10 years and prison, but was released in 2010, according to the Iowa Department of Corrections.

He was finished another stint in an Iowa prison in 2013 after serving time for an aggravated misdemeanor, DOC records show.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office worked with the West Union and Decorah police departments on the case.
