JOHN C. TSUNIS, CEO OF GOLD COAST BANK, FACES FORCIBLE TOUCHING CHARGE IN INCIDENT AT STONY BROOK UNIVERSITY, RECORDS SHOW

John C. Tsunis, a 63 year old bank executive, is facing a forcible touching chargestemming from an encounter last week with a female security worker in the VIP section at a StonyBrook University basketball game. Tsunis, chairman of the board and chief executive of Gold CoastBank in Islandia, was charged with the misdemeanor sex offense which carries a penalty of up to 1year in jail. The incident occurred on March 4 at the Island Federal Credit Union Arena on theuniversity grounds in Stony Brook. The security worker, employed by a private contractor, reportedthat Tsunis had touched her in a sexual manner. Based on the woman’s description, Stony Brookpolice found Tsunis in VIP Suite 4. Closed circuit video footage of the security worker’sencounter was downloaded by police and Tsunis was arrested.
