JURORS CONVICT MAN OF KILLING GIRL FOUND IN DRYER

Billy Frank Davis, Jr., 31, was convicted of snatching 8 year old Ahliyah Nachelle Irvin froma Topeka apartment, raping her, killing her and stashing her body in a dryer.　 Davis wasfound guilty of 10 counts, including capital murder.　 Jurors will return Friday to hear moreevidence before deciding whether to recommend that Davis receive the death penalty or life withoutparole.　 Davis, who found hiding in a creek bed, had a violent criminal history and had beenplaced on probation in another case the week before the killing.　 The former coroner whoperformed the autopsy testified that the bruised girl had a tooth knocked out and that she diedfrom asphyxia.
