KID-MOLEST COP JAILED FOR 10 YEARS

Brian Tuitt, a 39 year old Bronx detective, was arraigned February 4, 2005, on charges ofsexually abusing a 6 year old female relative over the last eight months. Tuitt, who once patrolledcyberspace looking for kiddie-porn traders, is now accused of being a child molester himself. Hewas charged with endangering the welfare of a child and sexually abusing the girl over a period oftime. He pleaded not guilty. He is accused of touching the girl's vagina multiple times startingJune 2004 and continuing until January 31, 2005.

Tuitt is also facing charges of fondling two 11 year old girls in a Yonkers motel. He was freedon $5,000 bail in the case of the 6 year old when he was busted by Yonkers cops February 16 after asearch of his home in upstate Pine Island. He was arraigned February 17 in Yonkers on two counts offirst degree sexual abuse for allegedly molesting the girls, who are friends of his family. Afterthe hearing, Tuitt was jailed on $250,000 bail.

On March 7, 2006, Tuitt pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting his ex-wife's two young nieceswhen they were left in his charge. Under the terms of the plea, Tuitt will be sentenced to 10 yearsin prison for assaulting the older girl and seven years for the younger sister. He already pleadedguilty to molesting six other young girls in Westchester.

On March 22, Tuitt was sentenced to the 10 years behind bars. He has yet to be sentenced in theother counties but is expected to serve no more than 10 years in total.
