KINSTON MAN CHARGED WITH SEX CRIMES AGAINST A MINOR AFTER A MONTHS-LONG INVESTIGATION

After a months-long investigation, the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office reports the arrest of a man for sex crimes against a minor.
On Wednesday, May 12, 2021, warrants were served on Jamaal Mills for first-degree forcible rape, statutory rape of a child by an adult, sex act by the custodian, and Indecent liberties with a child, according to a news release.
The investigation apparently began back in January of 2021.
Few details have been made available in this case, law enforcement further cites the sexual assault of a juvenile for not releasing more details.
Mills was given a $400,000 secured bond and is confined in the Lenoir County Jail.
