A Lacombe man faces second degree murder and sexual abuse of animals charges following the death of a woman in October. Deputies arrested John Jacob Jenkins this morning.
"Shortly before noon on Oct. 7, St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call in reference to a medical emergency at a residence on Lake Road in Lacombe," the sheriff's department said. "Emergency Medical personnel also responded to the residence and attempted to revive an unresponsive white female, later identified as Jennifer DeBlonde Jacob, but were unsuccessful."
Toxicology results showed the presence of narcotics. The sheriff's office said further investigation found some disturbing evidence.
"This investigation involved all divisions of the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office – investigations, DNA analyst, the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner and the forensic pathologist," according to the sheriff's office.
"During the course of the investigation, a search warrant was obtained for John Jacob Jenkins’ residence, which yielded the seizure of several items of evidentiary value. Among those items were electronic devices containing pornographic images of human beings engaging in sexual contact with animals."
WWL-TV reports Jacob was sexually assaulted before and after her death.
