Thomas Sheehan, a 46 year old Jackson Heights attorney, had sexually explicit conversationsthrough instant messages with someone he thought was a 14 year old girl but was an undercoverofficer. Criminal charges have been brought against Sheehan, of 96 Avenue A in Manhattan and 21Stony Wood Road in East Setauket. He faces two counts of attempted disseminating indecent materialto minors. Sheehan is at large. He was released on bail after being arraigned on similar chargesthat were filed against him by the New York City Police Department, which also had been monitoringhis Internet conversations with another investigator posing as a teenager and conducted a stingoperation.
