MAN GETS LIFE FOR KIDNAPPING GIRL

James P. Johnson, 39, kidnapped a 10 year old girl at a bus stop and held her captive for three days.  He was arrested and now sentenced to life in prison without parole.  Two psychiatrists testified at his sentencing that he was acting out a fantasy to make the girl his wife and mother to his three children.  Johnson, the unemployed single father of girls ages 7, 8 and 9, took the girl to his house in Gainesville, about 50 miles away and locked her in a room, blindfolded her and tied her to a bolt in the floor when she was left alone.  According to prosecutors, he molested the girl before finally dropping her off at a Wal-Mart store.  As police closed in, he released the girl and then checked himself into a mental hospital where he was arrested.  He pleaded not contest to seven felonies, including kidnapping, sexual molestation and various lewd and lascivious counts.
