MAN WITH LONG HISTORY OF VIOLENT SEX CRIMES WILL BE RELEASED TO WALLA WALLA COMMUNITY

WALLA WALLA COUNTY, Wash. -- The Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office is informing the public about a sex offender with long criminal history being released to the community.
Gregory W. Lee, 54, has been convicted of numerous violent and sexual crimes over the years. He will be released to the 2900 block of Waggoner Rd. on Nov. 12.
In 1981, at the age of 16, Lee was arrested for holding a woman down and sexually assaulting her in Walla Walla County. He was sentenced to 18 months in a juvenile rehabilitation facility.
In 1983, at age 17, he followed a 13-year-old girl and her brother into a store in Benton County, then sexually assaulted the girl by forcing her to the ground, holding her neck and grabbing her chest. He was convicted of indecent liberties with a child under 14. He was sentenced to 126 weeks in a juvenile facility.
In 1987, at the age of 21, he was convicted of public indecency and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes in Walla Walla County.
In 1989, at the age of 23, he was arrested in California after masturbating in front of a convenience store clerk. When the clerk called police, he threatened to "blow her away." He was convicted of first-degree robbery and indecent exposure and sentenced to 365 days in jail, five years probation.
In 1990, at the age of 24, he confronted an 18-year-old woman at a fruit stand in Umatilla County, exposed himself and forcibly attempted to pull her into his car. During the investigation, he was tied to multiple similar incidents in the area.
Later that year, Lee drove up next to a young teenager and said he had a gun hideen under his shirt and ordered to get into the car. The victim ran but was able to get his license plate number.
He was convicted of attempted rape for the first victim and second-degree kidnapping and public indecency for the second victim. All other charges were dismissed.
Also in 1990, at the age of 25, he forced his way into a woman's apartment in Whatcom County and attacked her by hitting her and forcing her into the bedroom. He ripped her clothes, undid her pants and pulled them off before assaulting the victim. He told her he would come back to get her before leaving with her purse and wallet.
He was convicted of first-degree burglary, attempted first-degree rape and first-degree robbery.
Lee has served his sentence for these crimes and is classified as a level 3 "sexually violent predator." The sheriff's office is releasing this information to keep the public informed for their own safety.
