MATTHEW BULMER GETS 15 YEARS TO LIFE FOR LURING BOY, SEXUALLY ABUSING ANOTHER FOR 6 YEARS, DA SAYS

Matthew Bulmer, a 22 year old Walmart employee, is accused of molesting a child in thebathroom of the Islandia store last month. He has been charged with sexually abusing anotherboy over a six-year period, according to a 24-count indictment. Bulmer, of Islip Terrace, wasarrested October 19, the day he lured a 5 year old boy into a toilet stall and molested him. He had sex with another boy from August 2007 to last August. Photos of children in sex acts,including the victim in the six-year case, were found in Bulmer's cellphone, leading to charges ofpossession of a sexual performance of a child.
In the case of the 5 year old boy, Bulmer was arraigned on three felonies – firstdegree sexual abuse, luring a child, attempted use of a child in a sexual performance as a sexuallymotivated felony, and one misdemeanor, endangering the welfare of a child. In the other case,he was charged with 11 felonies, including predatory sexual assault of a child; first degree courseof sexual conduct against a child; first degree criminal sexual act; first degree sexual abuse; useof a child in a child in a sexual performance as a sexually motivated felony; and possession of asexual performance of a child. He was also charged with misdemeanor endangering the welfareof a child. He faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted on the top charge, predatorysexual assault.
UPDATE: Bulmer, now 23, admitted to being attracted to children and was sentenced to15 years to life in prison for molesting the boy in the store restroom and for sexually abusing theother boy. He briefly apologized to the two boys and while the victims did not appear incourt, one of the boys' parents spoke about the fears that haunt their son, now 6.
