Julio Smith, a 38 year old convicted pedophile jailed for a parole violation, was releasedfrom Rikers Island yesterday and immediately rearrested in connection with the rape and sodomy oftwo children earlier this year.  Smith, of 275 Livonia Avenue in Brooklyn was being heldbecause investigators determined that while out on parole, he had enticed a 10 year old girl and a9 year old boy into his home and sexually assaulted them.  He had been sent to prison in 1992for the sexual abuse of a girlfriend's 11 year old daughter.  He was released on parole andregistered as a sexual offender in 1996.  When his parole officer visited his home and foundhim with the 9 year old boy earlier this year, he was arrested for consorting with children, aviolation of his parole.  He was released yesterday but was arrested after crossing the RikersIsland Bridge.  Smith, who gave his name as Rambo Smith, faces two counts of rape, sodomy andsexual abuse.
