MISSING CALIFORNIA GIRL, 4, IS FOUND

Jessica Cortez, a 4 year old who disappeared from a park during the weekend, was found safe yesterday at a medical clinic.  Police chief Martin Pomeroy said he could not yet fill in the gaps about where she had been for the last two days.  She appeared dirty and disheveled, he said.  A woman who brought the girl to the clinic was taken into custody.  The chief said it was too early to call the woman in custody a suspect.  Jessica had been at Echo Park with her parents and brother Sunday night.  Her parents sell tacos from a stand across the street from the park.  She was discovered missing about 7:30 p.m.  Police said they are still looking for a man who witnesses said they saw walking with her accompanied by a brown Chihuahua dog.  More than 200 police officers were involved in the search for Jessica.  Police divers spent hours searching the park's lake as hundreds of officers canvassed the neighborhood.
