NEW JERSEY:  EIGHT OFFENDERS INDICTED UNDER MEGAN’S LAW, ALLEGEDLY FAILED TO REGISTER

Santos Arueta, 26, last know address was Cliff Street, Cliffside Park.

F. Scott Flagg, 25, formerly of Ramapo Valley Road in Mahwah.

Roberto Galdamez, 20, lived on Paris Avenue in Northvale.

Francesco Giacchi, 35, Union Street, Hackensack.

Rufus Gordon, 67, Union Street, Hackensack.

Sherwin Haynes, 60, formerly of Palisades Avenue, Englewood.

Michael Morris, 28, Studio Road, Ridgefield.

 

Their names never would have been publicized had they registered with police as they weresupposed to. At most, local school districts would have been warned that the offenders had taken upresidence in Bergen County. The Prosecutor's Office announced on Tuesday that a grand jury indictedthe eight men for failing to comply with Megan's Law. Some had committed their offenses yearsbefore the law was adopted and others were convicted of offenses in other counties and later movedto Bergen County. According to the Bergen Record, of the 350 sex offenders covered by Megan's lawin Bergen County, only the eight men indicted Tuesday have been reported missing.
