NEW JERSEY TEACHER IS INDICTED ON SEX ASSAULT CHARGES

PFMLIT General, SEX CRIMES COMMITTED IN SCHOOL, SEX OFFENDERS AND OTHERS IN POSITIONS OF TRUST, TEACHERS SCHOOL STAFF

Jose Cruz, a 44 year old gym teacher accused of sexually assaulting nine underage girls, was indicted Friday on charges that he improperly fondled the girls on various occasions between January and March.  The alleged incidents took place at St. Leo's School in Elmwood Park and St. Anne's School in Fair Lawn, and involved girls ages 8 to 12.  He was charged with 11 counts of sexual assault and nine counts of child endangerment.
